Starting out in endodontics: A student's perspective

As current undergraduates studying dental surgery at Peninsula Dental School, endodontics stands alone in an area which challenges both technically and mentally. In our opinion, perhaps more than any other specialty, root canal treatment is one of the most demanding and intimidating procedures to undertake.

Whilst the teaching received gives you the solid foundations and the theoretical knowledge of the stages required of you to successfully root treat a tooth, the onus is then on you as the clinician to translate this into real world practice. This, as we are sure many would agree, is much easier said than done.
