Hello, and welcome to the second issue of BDJ Student's dental school takeover, this time brought to you by Peninsula Dental School.

And what an issue it is. Curated by editors Amy Sharp and Anamika Kumar, the issue demonstrates the real width and breadth of talented writers out there. Taking on a different approach to the highly successful King's College London takeover we saw in issue 1, the Peninsula team offer a wide range of professional development tips and clinical advice alongside insight on what life is like at the university.
While it is difficult - and unfair - to pick out one article, I was struck by Anamika's article on navigating life after jaw surgery as a dental student. Being on the ‘other side of the treatment' table, so to speak, is never easy, so I highly recommend reading Anamika's first-hand account of her experience and recovery.
With one more takeover coming up in 2025 - and I can't wait to share it with you - there's never been a better time for you as dental students, dental schools and dental societies to get involved with BDJ Student. We‘ll be announcing our next student editor very soon, and a huge thank you to all applicants who have sent in their excellent articles to consider.
All that's left for me to say is enjoy the issue, and a huge thank you to all of the contributors, but especially Amy and Anamika for the excellent work they put in overseeing this vast array of quality articles!
