I fell in love with dentistry the moment I witnessed the care dentists provide and the significant impact they have on patients' lives. I envisioned myself that one day I would transform smiles and make a difference.
With strong GCSEs and A-Levels, I applied to dental school, confident that I met all the necessary requirements to secure the place. However, despite receiving interview invitations, I was ultimately faced with rejections. It was the first significant failure I had ever faced, and the disappointment that followed left me struggling with self-doubt. I began to question not only my intelligence but also felt as though I had let my family down. Rather than allowing this setback to define my worth, I chose to redirect my path and pursue a BSc in Dental Hygiene at the University of Portsmouth, aiming to gain clinical insight into the field.
