Student perceptions of AI-supported simulated clinical practice

Dental education has always been shaped by the tools available to us. From traditional lectures to simulation labs and patient interactions, the goal has remained the same: to prepare students to confidently and safely treat patients. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become part of everyday life, so naturally, we began asking: could AI also reshape the way we teach dentistry?

That question became the starting point for our project. We wanted to explore how students themselves perceive AI-supported simulated clinical practice, not just from a theoretical standpoint, but from their own lived experiences as learners.
