Survival guide to your Dental Foundation Training year

As two DCTs who have recently completed our Foundation Years, we found ourselves thinking about all the things we wished we'd known before we each began our FD year. We came up with the guide below which is designed to help you navigate your FD year and making the transition between dental school and practice life easier.

It sounds clichéd but the most important thing you can do is stay organised. The ePortfolio requirements vary by region but inevitably every region's Portfolio requires input throughout the year. It's so tempting to think ‘I'll just catch up later' but, trust us, those reflections, and assessments (DOPs, ADEPTs, mini-CEXs) all add up and later is worse than just doing it while its fresh.
