The relationship between WT1 expression and oestrogen receptor (ER) status in human breast cancers. There was no difference between the number of WT1+ cells in ER-positive versus ER-negative breast cancers (a). ER-positive tumours had greater CD31 expression (b), WT1/CD31 co-localisation (c), total number of vessels (d), and number of vessels that were WT1-positive (e), when compared with their ER-negative counterparts. In addition, the percentage of WT1-positive vessels within the tumours was significantly greater in ER-positive than in ER-negative cancers (f).
