In WT mouse oocytes, Itsn2 mRNA with m6A could be recognized by IGF2BP3 to furtherly enhance its stability and promote oocyte meiotic maturation. However, in Mettl3Gdf9 cKO mouse oocytes, Itsn2 mRNA without m6A could be degraded after losing IGF2BP3 protection, leading to oocyte meiotic maturation failure.
