a, b GFAP staining is significantly decreased in the SVZ (arrows) of Nrmt1−/− mice. However, there is a significant increase in c, d SOX2-positive IPCs and e, f Doublecortin (DCX)-positive neuroblasts in Nrmt1−/− mice. Neither the d percentage of SOX2, Ki-67 double-positive cells, or the f ratio of Ki-67/DCX intensity in Nrmt1−/− mice is significantly different from WT, indicating proliferation is not occurring at these stages. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.005 as determined by unpaired t-test, n = 3.
