In H/R-stimulated cardiomyocytes, circHIPK3 sponges endogenous miR-20b-5p to sequester and inhibit the activity of miR-20b-5p, which leads to increased expression of ATG7, thereby regulating the autophagy and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes.
