a To confirm the knockdown of galectin-3 by shRNA, equal amounts of protein from cell lysates of mock transfectants (Mock), full-length MUC21 transfectants (MUC21,) and galectin-3-silenced full-length MUC21 transfectants (MUC21 Gal3KD) were separated by SDS-PAGE, blotted onto nitrocellulose membranes, and probed with anti-galectin-3 mAb TIB166 (left panel) or anti-β-actin mAb AC-74 (right panel).
