A PMA-differentiated THP-1 cells were stimulated with Ef.LTA (10 μg/ml) in the presence of NaB (10 mM) or indicated concentrations of trichostatin A (TSA) for 6 h. Then, the culture supernatants were collected and the levels of pro- or active caspase-1, IL-1β were determined by immunoblotting. B The concentrations of IL-1β secreted into the culture supernatants was measured using ELISA. The results shown are representative of triplicate experiments. Pam3CSK4 was used as a positive control. VC denotes vehicle control (DMSO). All results are expressed as mean ± SD of triplicate samples. *p < 0.05. C The cells were stimulated with NaB, NaB, or NaP in the presence or absence of Ef.LTA. The cells were lysed and subjected to Western blotting using anti-acetyl-histone H3 antibody.
