Experimental design. Crossed- and selfed plants from six outcrossing and six selfing populations of A. lyrata were grown alone (no competition) or in competition with each other (competition). All crossed plants were raised from seeds produced by cross-pollination under ambient conditions (cross), and selfed plants were raised from seeds produced by self-pollination under CO2-enriched environment (self [CO2]) or under ambient conditions (self [amb]).
