The shorter the lines, the stronger the match between the PCoA biplot and geography. Filled circles with country codes are the mean PCoA scores per country. rIBD is the Mantel r correlation coefficient of genetic vs. geographic distance. ‘rlong’ and ‘rlat’ are the Spearman rank correlation coefficients of the PCoA first and second axes scores with longitude and latitude, respectively, calculated at population level to reduce autocorrelation.
