Clary sage cut inflorescences were fed with a solution containing mevinolin or fosmidomycin for 6 days. Sclareol (a) and linalyl acetate (b) content was quantified by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC–MS) after hexane extraction. Bars represent the mean ± SD (n = 4).
