The homozygous translocation watermelon line “148” crossed with a normal watermelon line “JM” produced F1 hybrids “2018-Z-4”, where were heterozygous for the chromosome translocation. A 2.09 Mb fragment translocation on chromosome 6 caused abnormality during meiosis and produced “semisterility” which led to less seed watermelon in F1 hybrids
