Frequency of occurrence of motifs associated with movement trajectories. From the four empirical data sets, nine distinct motifs contained in movement trajectories are identified. Exactly the same motifs are obtained from model generated trajectories. The frequencies of occurrence of the motifs from the model and from actual trajectories agree with each other reasonably well. There exist many more types of possible motifs. However, the nine types included here have the highest frequencies of occurrence, the sum of which exceeds 0.97.
