We used (rex − rin)/rin = 0.1 (cyan), 0.2 (black), and 0.3 (magenta) for the calculations (see Fig. 1 for the definition of the radii rex and rin). The stable solutions are shown by solid curves and the unstable solutions are shown by dotted curves. The global minimum of the free energy changes between the two stable solutions at a threshold interaction parameter χtr, indicated by broken curves. The value of the rescaled shear modulus g0 (defined by Eq. (9)) is fixed to 1.0 × 10−3
