Heteroplasmy statistics evolve during ageing, development, and between generations. a Joint inference of the model behaviour given the full, combined set of our heteroplasmy observations. An offset decrease in mean heteroplasmy and a linear increase in heteroplasmy variance, suggested by Figs 3 and 4, are clearly observed.
