Schematic model for the regulation of axon regeneration by caspase-dependent PS exposure. Axonal injury triggers a rise in intracellular calcium, resulting in the activation of CED-3. This, in turn, activates CED-7, leading to an increase in PS exposure. TTR-11 could act as an extracellular PS acceptor and PS-associated TTR-11 may in turn activate integrin. This signal is relayed intracellularly through the CED-2–CED-5–CED-12 module and CED-10 to initiate axon regeneration
