Schematic illustrations of RIE-induced nanostructures. a Thermally pretreated PDMS is modified by RIE with Ar, O2 ions and electrons via physical bombardments and chemical reactions. After the RIE treatment, the surface of PDMS is turned to a silica-like layer with a topography of sinusoidal undulations.
