From: Single-cell CAS-seq reveals a class of short PIWI-interacting RNAs in human oocytes

Expression of small RNAs in human early embryos. a Abundance and length distribution of small RNAs in human oocytes and early embryos. The expression of small RNAs was normalized to an exogenous spike-in. b The highly expressed transposable elements (TEs) that were differentially regulated by oocyte short-PIWI-interacting RNAs (os-piRNAs) and the 30-nt piRNAs in human oocytes are shown. The TEs were ranked in descending order based on the relative abundance of their corresponding piRNAs. The expression ranks of os-piRNAs and the 30-nt piRNAs from the antisense strand of each TE were analyzed by a t test (false discovery rate (FDR) ≤0.05). Only the top 50 TEs that were targeted by os-piRNAs or the 30-nt piRNAs were included. Source data of a, b are provided in the Source Data file
