The recruitment of Ebp1 (p48 isoform) to the ribosomal tunnel exit excludes NC-associated factors like modifying enzymes (MetAPs, Nats), chaperones (RAC/NAC), and targeting factors (SRP/Sec61, Get pathway). Protein biogenesis is stopped or at least slowed down as the NC is sterically hindered from exiting the ribosomal tunnel.
