From: Non-stationary statistics and formation jitter in transient photon condensation

The pump pulse sets the beginning of the time axis. We observe a delay in the growth of the photon condensate close to the critical excitation fraction Pth, accompanied by a large pulse broadening. Experimental results are shown in a and b, while simulations of the mean-field rate equations are shown in c and d. The inset depicts the experimentally inaccessible molecular excitation fraction f, during the same timespan as the main axes, demonstrating the two-way coupling between photons and molecules. The cavity ground state is located at 602 nm (cavity cutoff), the same conditions as in Fig. 2. Panels a, and c depict a subset of the data on b and d.
