These include Δ200Hg (in ‰, a) and Δ199Hg (in ‰, b). Our data are shown as red dots (for Δ200Hg) and blue dots (for Δ199Hg). Previously published Proterozoic and Phanerozoic data (shown as black dots) are compiled from15,16,17,18,20,23,36,38,41,55,56,57. The only previously published Hg-MIF data from Archean sediments (shown as gray open circles) were from the Mt McRae shale20, which have been controversially associated with transient atmospheric oxygen before the GOE5.
