Fed-batch fermentations of the a PALKcgmdh and b PALKmsmdhG11Q strains were carried out in CDM using glucose and glycerol as dual carbon sources. Fed-batch fermentations of the c PALK and d PALKcgmdh strains were carried out using glucose and glycerol with increased initial cell mass (OD600 = 21.1 and 19.3, respectively). Fermentations were all performed in duplicate (n = 2 independent experiments).
