Estimates of effects were obtained from zero-inflated negative binomial mixed-effects models with four abiotic, biotic and human activity factors as fixed effects and country identity as a nested random effect. Note that native species richness was used only in the model for vertebrate groups due to the unavailability of invertebrate native distribution data.
