3D reconstructions of the different states are shown for the E/E tRNA state for the P/E tRNA state and for the P/P tRNA state (mtLSU blue; mtSSU gray). Structural rearrangements upon transition between the P/E and E/E states and € between the P/P and P/E state are shown. Each of the two states have been superimposed, and the affected structural elements are shown according to the text. Movements of the structural elements between the states are indicated by arrows and the contact site to mtSSU is encircled.
