The grey shading indicates the possible range of terrigenous nutrient input available for NPP taking into account the remineralisation rate of terrigenous organic matter and the inclusion of missing sources of terrigenous nitrogen. Remote-sensing-based NPP derived from satellite observations of chlorophyll-a6 (black dashed line) with uncertainties (dotted black line) are shown in a (excluding Nordic Seas and CAA that are mainly out of the area that we defined as the Arctic Ocean).
