CStraits are the t-value scores obtained from GAMM linking NPP and climatic fluctuations for the a Mont-Laurier and b Chibougamau sites (see Fig. 3). Shown is the CStrait for summer moisture during the year preceding ring formation, snowfall, and spring moisture for the current year ring formation. The farther from zero is the t-score value, the stronger is the relationship between NPP and the targeted climate variable. Biplots at left illustrate observations (white dots) along with generalized additive model (GAM) predictions (red lines), with two-sided 95% confidence intervals (orange shadings). Maps at right illustrate the variability of CStraits in coordinate space.
