a B–O basic units and their relative positions in the asymmetric unit of K5Ba2(B10O17)2(BO2). K5Ba2[B10O17]2(BO2) presents the first case that contains all the three available basic motifs simultaneously, namely BO2, BO3, and BO4 units. b Crystal structure of K5Ba2(B10O17)2(BO2) viewed along the a-axis. c The 2[B5O9] infinite layer and isolated [BO2] anions in K5Ba2(B10O17)2(BO2). The adjacent 2[B5O9] infinite layers further link to form 2[B10O17] double layers and then stack along the [010] direction in the –AAAA– sequence. The atoms in lavender, green, black, and red are K, Ba, B, and O atoms, respectively. All the bonds of K–O and Ba–O are removed for clarity. The O atoms in isolated [BO2] units are non-bridging atoms.
