N2 fixation is observed in a large particle of radius 0.125 cm and surrounding \({{\rm{O}}}_{2}\) concentrations a 50 μmol O2 L−1 and b 0.5 μmol O2 L−1, and c in a relatively smaller particle of radius 0.05 cm and surrounding \({{\rm{O}}}_{2}\) concentrations 0.5 μmol O2 L−1. Line types are similar as in Fig. 4. Note the different ranges of the scale of \({{\rm{N}}}_{2}\) fixation.
