Indication whether the surface charge increases (+) or decreases (−) upon flow. Column position indicates if the surface is a source or sink of reactive ions, row position indicates if the reactive ion desorbs or adsorbs to generate surface charge. The change of surface charge upon flow is always larger at the inlet than at the outlet.
