From: α-TubK40me3 is required for neuronal polarization and migration by promoting microtubule formation

In cerebral cortex, developmentally upregulated α-TubK40me3 facilitates tubulin nucleation and promotes the neuronal exit from multipolar stage, thereby initiating the radial migration. In the absence of α-TubK40me3, tubulin nucleation is not easy to form and the number of microtubules is reduced in neurons, leading to defects in neuronal polarization and migration.
