A working model of MORC proteins in plant: MORC proteins are localized to RdDM sites through direct interaction with RdDM components. Upon recruitment, MORCs topologically entrap chromatin through dimerization and clamp around DNA to continuously reinforce the recruitment of RdDM complexes to their site of action and thereby, facilitate the efficiency and activity of the RdDM machinery.
