For the breast cancer datasets adjustment was based on a logistic regression model with age, menopausal status, age at menarche, number of first-degree relatives with breast cancer, and BMI included as covariates. For the ovarian and endometrial cancer datasets age and menopause were included as covariates. Odds ratios were estimated using median-unbiased estimation.
