Time-resolved fluorescence (a) mapping and (b) spectroscopy of compound PY16 in aqueous solution (25 °C, 20 μM). The solution of PY16 contained 10% (volume ratio) dimethyl sulfoxide to enhance monomeric emission. The redshift of the emission over time indicated the formation of excimers.
