Features: (i) division site resembling those found in Gram-positive bacteria72; (ii) electron-dense material on outer membrane; (iii) possible fimbriae or outer surface material; (iv) cytoplasmic membrane; (v) outer membrane. The scale bars indicate different distances for each panel. TEM was performed only on sample 3, and these images were selected to illustrate the different features observed.
