Warming increased the peak values of plant growth and soil microbial respiration activities in the middle of the growing season without much shifts in their phenology (a, b). Warming advanced spring phenology and delayed autumn phenology of soil fauna feeding activity, with an unchanged activity peak during the growing season (c). The monthly average activities of these organisms were connected by straight lines (with the corresponding colored sampling points, n = 4) for both ambient and warming climates.
