White horizontal lines indicate precipitation-weighted averages of each rainfall event (see Supplementary Text S3 for methodology), where the box represents the quartiles with the middle line indicating the median value, and the whiskers represent the data distribution excluding outliers. No time series sampling occurred during the 30 December 2021 storm, but integrated rains samples were collected and streamflow in the burned catchment from the extended baseflow period was collected on 4 January 2022. There was no streamflow in the unburned catchment to sample at that time.
