Upon constructing the plots in (a) and (b), the total number of approximately 600 helices was counted for each experimental condition to give statistically reliable results. The error bar in (a) and (b) is determined by the standard error. c, d Corresponding asymmetric factor, g, as a function of the magnetic field with ferromagnetic substrates (c) and with nonmagnetic substrates (d), respectively. The effect of the magnetic field emerges only for the synthesis condition with a ferromagnetic substrate. The error bar in (c) and (d) is evaluated based on the error bar used in (a) and (b).
