Substantially more variation and higher copy numbers are observed in L. megarhynchos (left) than in L. luscinia (right). b) The original GRC assembly size (grey) and an estimated GRC size for each sequenced individual, taking into account the recent copy number variation on the GRC (blue), are compared to the GRC size estimates obtained from the meiotic spreads of 3 other individuals (the 10 individual measurements are shown as dark green dots with the average shown as the green bar). LM1, LM2, etc refer to the represented L. megarhynchos individual, while LL1, LL2, etc refer to the L. luscinia individual.
