a NWs that follow RWT are sparsely distributed at random positions. Inset shows an example of a NW event. b RWs emerge in strong coupling experiments, i.e., for input modes of wider size. RWs have a large spatial extent and are all positioned into definite regions. These areas (dotted circles) indicate the position where the nonlinear waveguiding channels form.
