Abundantly secreted astroglial exosomes promote CST axon growth during early postnatal development (within 1st postnatal week) when ApoE is lowly expressed; this effect is antagonized by increased ApoE expression to promote dendritic spine formation after CST axon growth is completed later during the postnatal development.
