GATA1 controls ceramide homeostasis during erythroid development by regulating sphingolipid biosynthetic enzymes. Disrupting ceramide homeostasis deleteriously impacts erythropoiesis by antagonizing essential SCF and Epo signaling via PP2A-dependent mechanisms.
