The linkage between dynamic succession of microbial community assembly process and nitrogen cycling in AD0.5 (a), AOM (b) and CK (c) groups. Nodes are colored according to different phylum, and the size of each node is proportional to the number of connections (i.e., degrees). The red link suggests positive covariation between two individual nodes and a blue link reflects negative covariation. Besides, the different numbers represent the microorganisms at different family levels (the information of the nodes is provided in Table S3). Nitrogen cycling: ammoniation, nitrification, denitrification, Anammox, nitrogen fixation, DNRA (dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium). AD0.5 = modified with algal organic matter and 0.5 mg/l domoic acid, AOM = modified with algal organic matter only, CK = without any modification.
