For each patient (V20I, G47E, V122I) the figure shows a side view of the reconstructed 3D map (left), a 5 Å thick fibril cross sectional slice of the 3D map (top right) and the molecular model superimposed with a one density layer slice of the map (gray, bottom right) are shown. The terminal amino acids are indicated, and the red asterisk marks the internal cavity. The color coding is consistent in the cross-sectional model and in the side view of the 3D map.
