Data show the mean palmitic acid (A, B), fructose (C, D) and glucose (E, F) content of plant roots and extraradical AMF hyphae respectively, within each treatment. All data were collected at 5 weeks post inoculation with AM fungi. Treatments investigate the impact of foliar-feeding aphids on the concentration of stated compounds within the roots and their associated AMF partners. Bars represent four biological replicates with the standard error of the mean. Different letters denote significance within plot panels, within single plant species (one-way ANOVA, Tukey’s Honest Significant Difference test, p < 0.05).
