The electron density ne with fluctuations is shown in blue solid line. This is plotted with the first 12 modes included. This profile is centered around the resonant layer corresponding to 40 MHz. The electron density ne(rc) for the 40 MHz frequency is illustrated by the orange line. The two vertical green solid line denotes the interval Δr where the intersections can occur.
