(Ag₃PO₄)* denotes a photo-excited Ag₃PO₄ NP with many e_CB⁻ and h⁺. The purple-blue spheres are used to show that in (Ag₃PO₄)* and (Ag₃PO₄)ⁿ⁻, the e_CB⁻ is shared by silver cations, resulting in a fraction charge of δ + (0 < δ < 1) on each cation.
