Free fermions (A, B) and free bosons (C, D). These functions perfectly overlap for the entire range of \({{{{{{{\mathcal{T}}}}}}}}\) when \({{{{{{{{\mathcal{T}}}}}}}}}_{A}\,=\,{{{{{{{{\mathcal{T}}}}}}}}}_{B}\,=\,0.01\) in (A, C). When \({{{{{{{{\mathcal{T}}}}}}}}}_{A}\,=\,{{{{{{{{\mathcal{T}}}}}}}}}_{B}\,=\,0.2\) (B, D), a finite but small difference begins to show up between them. The bias used Vbias = 20.7 μV. We take the dwell time τdwell = 0.01 ns (see Supplementary Information Sect. S5 for the evaluation of τdwell).
